 An elegant Regency riding habit  with posh military braiding. Suitable for 1800-1820. Based on the famous portrait of Queen Louise  - 1810

 Made in wool/cashemre in dark navy -  a luxurious feel, thick and soft hand.

 Features:

 * petticoat (skirt) in wool,  with simple straps holding it in the underbust position, it closes at the side.

* a spencer jacket in wool, lined with ivory cotton, decorated with  elaborate braiding using a  military metallic braid ( 3 different kinds). The braid is a  proper, high quality metallic  one from Hand&Lock, not a cheap lurex one, so suitable for Living History.

 Braiding done partly by hand partly by machine - ther than that no machine stitching visible

*the  jacket closes with 4 buttons, with 5 more buttons serving as a decoration; the braiding also features decorative buttons on both sides

* fashionably long and narrow sleeves ( they will stretch a bit as the wool has a bit of give, but not suitable if you have bceps circumfernece more than 14inches. the cuffs are alsodecorated with 2 kinds od braid.

 * hand finish on inside skirt seams and hem, no machine stitching visible

* measurements

 The petticoat closes underbust at 34",  there is room to move the button  by about an inch either side. the skirt is very long all around, as befitting a habit - if you want me to fix inside tapes for hitcing it up for a use as a walking dress as well, please ask for it  when you purchase - the tapes will be added free of charge

jacket underbust: 36", bust 39, with a narrow back ( 11") - again, the wool will have some give over time

 

 Will fit size 12 - 14, but please check the measurements carefully before buying, preferably on the undergarments you plan to wear the habit on ( stays etc) 

 *will look best on period undergarments ( here worn on long line stays with cups)

 Stay, chemisette and stock not included.  

 The stock habits are  all priced very attractively as they  are all  on a bit of experimental side as I am perfecting the patterns.
