On offer is this superb saree - I bought it for my own wedding celebrations 5 years ago ( we had a hen party with a theme of bridal customs around the wolrd where we broought original clothing, researched the customs etc and talked about how marriage rites differ around the world:-) ). I havent used it since and it has been sittin on the botton of my wardrobe - whereas I think it deserves a chance of shining in all its glory at a proper wedding, worn by a happy bride once more!
The saree is simply stunning - the intricate embroidery is breathtaking and must have taken ages to make - most of it is hand stitched. it has embroidery, metal work, cequins, purls, chain stitch, picot - you name it, it has it all! Simply superb.
The outfit consists of a small bodice closing at the back wth hooks and loops( size 10 - here was worn on 12 with 34F chest - as you can see, it was a tad tight...); a simple petticoat with drawstring ( fraying at the hem), and saree, lengha style I think. just over 5m of it (Please excuse my clumsy draping..... :-( )
I paid for it around £400 five years ago, bought second hand, though originally it must have been well over a tgrand, looking at similar items nowadays .....
it is a treasure - it would be great is a bride on a budget could get it and wear it with pride!
the sari is heavy - please ask for overseas postage before buying!
