  Late bodies based on the famous stays made for the effigy of Elizabeth I in 1603 ( 1603 - Westminster Abbey, London, bodies for an effigy of Queen Elizabeth I). Perfect for late Elizabethan and Jacobean styles – essential in creating the smooth, elongated, conical silhouette of the era.

 Features:

  *made in linen canvas and a densly woven silk damask ( from Sudburry Silk Mills)

 *Fully boned with  reed – authentic, breathable and light! The reed adapts to your body and moves with it - making the stays very comfortable. The front lacing is additionally reinforced with artificial whalebone for durability

* linen lace 

*Handworked eyelets

*construction and boning channels done on a machine

 *edges bound  with bias tape in cream 

 Mesurements -  chest closes at 35",  waist closes at 29", waist - armpit height - 8"

Woudl suit best size 12-14, with natural body measurments  of chest - 37" to 39", waist 31" - 33". here shown on a model size 12

 Can be worn laced shut or with a gap up to 2 " wide

 A matching boned stomacher can be made if needed,, at the additional price of £20, please ask!
