This type of corset became popular for sports, lounging and for younger wearers. It was usually worn for comfort during athletic endevaours - and was often advertised as a cycling corset or heath corsets. Several varieties existed, the most known makers being Ferris and Jaeger.
*2 layer construction,cotton cambric on top, cotton coutil as a base.
*boned with a mix of flat (back panel) and spring steel bones, as well as synthetic whalebones in the middle panels
* closing with the trademark button closure, utilising special tabs and buttons on elastic for a conveniece
* the straps are regulated as well with a button and tabs.

*corded with cotton cord
*back lacing eyelets with washers
* innovative elastic inserts sides - with double layer of rubber elastic to provide strength and comfort
*edges bound in cotton tape
*interior channels with cotton tape
* decorative elastic suspenders, long ( they were worn over a bunched up underwear or petticoat, and can be regulated as needed - or chopped off if not needed!
A bit of experiment, as it is the first one of that style, so a lower price!
Measurements - the corset closes at:
bust - 40-43" (102-109cm)
Waist - 30 - 32"" (76-81cm)
High hip - 36 - 40" (102cm)
Side length ( waist to armpit) - 7.5" ( 18cm)
Would best suit a person with the following measurements:
natural waist: 33 - 35",
hip 39 - 43"

All our Victorian corsets have the standard 2 inches waist reduction built in – the reduction will vary from person to person depending on the lady’s built and body type. Please measure carefully – your actual waist measurement should be at least 2 inches more than the measurement of the corset. The corset can be worn closed competely, or with a gap up to 2inches.
The corsets should not be worn on naked skin - please wear them on a vest, chemisette or a blouse - or fitted tee shirt.

Please note that wearing an incorrect size or incorrect use of a corset might result in health issues. Corsets can be beneficial in certain conditions - but detrimental in others, so if you have a back/ spine/rib condition please check with your doctor prior to purchasing one. A well fitted corset should feel like a hug and should not cause any discomfort.
