Romantic era day gown with gigot sleeves, 1830-38, based on the iconic gown from V&A museum
It needs to be worn over a period correct corset ( a corded one would be best, but a standard, generic victorian one will work as well!) and a combination of a corded and standard petticoats - either can be ordered separately on the site. Ditto sleeve supports
Used twice for a photoshoot and once for event - condition excellent.
There is a slight staining at the back of the skirt - was present on the fabric ( vintage, 1950s?) it might cam off in a wash - see the pictures!
*made in vintage cotton print - the scrolling florals are perfect for the period!
*bodice lined with cotton
* bodice closing at the back with a hook and eyelet combination - can be adapted to size
* skirt cartridge pleated tthe bodice
*separate belt with a period replica buckle - the buckle has been changed to a silver coloured one, see the pictures
*bodice piped at the neck, waist and cuffs ( double piping at the cuffs), with triangular decorartions on the sleeve edged with cotton lace ( just like the original).
inside finish by hand.
*Accessories not included!
