A rare occasion to aquire the  sumptous gown from the Victorian Dressmaker volume 2 book!

  A real showstopper, this gown is  based on the famous painting ( The Fair Toxophilites, 1870s) and is ideal for a whole range of activities, not only archery -  for  promenading, or as a generic afternoon or visiting gown.

 Used twice, price lowered.

 Versatile - can be worn with or without the overskirts

 Details:

 * A fitted bodice in silk taffeta, lined throughout with cotton. false vest and a decoration with lace.

The iconic cufffs are decorated with a lot of rullfes with lace on the outside and pleated lace ruffle on the inside. 
 Overlocker finished seam allowances

The bodice is boned with original Victorian antique bodice stays

Metal buttons for ornament - the bodice closes with hook and eyelets. 

* The skirt -

  Stunning silk grosgrain in rich crimson hue was used.  

 The skirt has an inbulit bustle inside, and two pocket -  a bigger to the side and waist watch pocket.

The skirt is lined with cotton throughout, hem reinfirced wuut additional facing.

  A nice flowing train, but the skirts can be additionally bustled at the back to keep the train off the ground

* The overskirt  in silk taffeta with pleated silk and lace ruffle, as in the painting.

 A matching  hat  made by Farthingale  Historical hats is  included, as is the jabot with lace.

 Archery equyippment not included.

 To achieve the typical silhouette,  petticoatts as well as a  proper victorian corset  need to be worn.  

 A new bespoke  gown in this style would start from £2500 plus fabircs.

 bodice closes at :

chest:41.5 (105cm)

 waist: 29"  ( 74cm).

 back width across the shoulder blades - 14.5" (37cm), back length ( nape to waist ) 14.5" ( 37cm)

 skirt length in front - 42" ( 160cm), waistband close at 28" (71cm), the overskirt waistband ia bit longer as it overlaps in front,

Here worn over a 5'7" ( 170cm) tall,  size 12

Would best suit a curvy,  corseted UK size 12
