A striking Victorian riding habit, in cotton twill, in the first bustle/natural form style ( late 1870s, early 80s). This style features a fitted bodice and voluminous, trained skirts.
Used once of a competition ( and won its class!) so a discounted price
* made in high quality cotton twill in a lovely shade of burgundy- washable
* bodice flatlined in cotton sateen, edges piped and faced with the same burgundy twill
* The bodice closes with velvet buttons
The skirt is unlined and unweighted, though the double velvet ribbon decoration ( narrower ribbon at the hem on the inside as a facing, and an outside wider ribbon) add some weight.
The finish inside is modern, with overlocker to save on costs. The bodice is unboned, if you would like to add boning please select appropriate option
Jacket closes at waist 26.5" (67cm), bust 36,5" (93cm), back width 14" ( 35cm); sleeve length 22" ( 56cm) - probably suitable for a corsetted UK size 8/10 - here model fits well in the waist and back but a tad too big in the bust ( and we didnt have time to pad it out!).
Skirt waist closes witha button at 26.5" (67cm), space for a half inch to let out if needs be
*This style is worn over a Victorian riding corset - wearing it with modern undergarments will be detrimental to the fit ( the bust position). Riding corsets can be purchased from the shop as stock items.
When measuring, please measure on a corset!
The stock habits are all priced very attractively due to the fact that they are all on a bit of experimental side as I am working on perfecting the patterns for various sizes and styles - they also have been worn for a photoshoot, some around horses, so there might be a speck of mud or a few stray horse hair that escaped our cleaning service :-)
Bespoke habit in this style starts from £950 plus fabrics.
