A medieval dress suitable for re-creating an mid/upper status lady from 13th century - origonally based on the dresses from Codex Manesse ( begining of the 14th century), though the style can be worn as a late 12th and 13th century kirtle as well.
This dress has not been made by us, but by a friend who has left the re-enactment scene, and it iis not completely finished. It is completely handstitched.
* good quality thin wool in buurgundy
*neck and cuffs decorated with a band of silk, with bead clusters ornament
*chest - up to 40 ", would suit best size 10-12,
Never been worn, but needs some love and finishihng - the inside seams need couching down at some point, and the neckline need repair - see pictures. Sold as seen.
Would make a fantastic project for a budding medieval seamstress, or for a lady who is able to finish the work and enjoy a bargain item. Alternatively, I can do the finishing touches for you ( extra £30 will be charged)
