1830 -50s corded petticoat made to measure

Corded petticoat, suitable for the 1830s Romantic era styles as well as the early Victorian ones ( up to 1850). Let us know which style exactly you are after and we will tweak the petticoat as needed ( basically 40s and early 50s will be bigger, requiring more fabric and more cord).

The petticoat will need to be starched propery once delivered ( we dont ostarch then since they need to be folded in post!) - the best starching tutorial i have seen is this one by Nikki!

Please allow 3-5 weeks for delivery of made to measure items. 

 Features:

 *cotton fabric, machine washable - here shown in cambric

 *skirts gathered to a waistband – waistband closes with a button, 

* corded with a cotton cord, as shown

 If you would like more cording than shown on the example, lace etc., please contact us prior to ordering!

 This is a made to measure item, please provide  the following measurements:

1. waist circumference, measured over your corset 

 2. length  - waist to mid calf -  corsed petticoats are relatively short, allowing for standard petticoat to cover the last few inches!

traditional - machine is used throughout, as suitable for the era

modern - overlocker ( serger) is used om the edges, for a fast and secure finish.

Fabric choices - all period correct, all machine washable

 Cotton sheeting - light, white and durable - the  cheapest option!

Cotton cambric - stiffer than sheeting, with a gloss, comes in off white/ ivory. Durable, sturdy but light and lovely to touch - my favourite for a historical petticoat! shown in the picture

Cotton twill - thicker than sheeting, but a softer hand, a bit heavier too.  Durable and soft.
