Georgian stays, size 12-14

 A sumptous pair of stays, 1740-60s

 Features:

*Made in 2 layers of sturdy cotton duck canvas and top layer in stuning silk brocade, with period correct pattern,  a very rare fabric! 

 *white linen lining

* the skirts/tabs covered with leather

*  linen ties at the shoulder straps and at the back.

* spiral lacing at the back and at the front, using linen lace

* boned with synthetic whalebone - sturdy and mimicking the qualities of the original whalebone well.

 *back lacing and front reinforced with steel bones

* hand worked eyelets for lacing

* generous  boned stomacher

*the stomacher has a top pocket in the lining - handy for a handkierchief, money or a phone....

 Measurements:

 Stays, with closed back, and with the front open to maximum measure:   at chest - 34", waist 30", side length 8".

 Can be made both smaller or bigger   - the double set of lacing allows for quite a versatility!

Best suited to natural measurements of chest  36-40, waist 30-34. Here  shown on a size 12(34F) - 

  Stays, just like corsets, should be comfortable and not restrict your movement. It will take a few wears for the bones to mould to your body, so please do not lace too tight!
