Victorian day walking dress in silk

 A 1880s style Victorian dress with a day bodice in silks.

 Details:

 * A fitted bodice in silk damask from Sudbury Mills, and silk taffeta, lined throughout with cotton. Metal buttons, unboned. Needs to be worn over a  well fitted historical corset.

* The sklirts - a bustle skirt in the same damask, lined throughout, pocket opn one side.

An apron overskirt in silk raffeta with a decorative antique fringe, lined with silk.

Undergarments s not inlculded.

 A matching straw bonnet with silk ribbons is included.

 To achieve the typical silhouette,  a bustle cage  plus a flounced petticoat  as well as a corset need to be worn. (all items can be purchased separately in the shop, subject to stock availibility.)

 Sizing

 bodice closes at :

 *chest:37 (94cm)

 *waist: 28"  ( 72cm).

 *back width across the shoulder blades - 14.5" (37cm), back  length ( nape to waist ) 15" ( 38cm)

 *turn back cuffs 8" (20cm),  sleeve at the elbow = 12.5" (32cm)

 *collar 14.5" ( 37cm)

Four  side seams are double stitched and the stitching can be removed to add on another 1-2" of room at the waist ( see the photos)

Skirts: skirt waistbands -  28" (71).",  Front length 9 waistband to hem) 38" (97cm). closing with a button and hooks and bars, can be moved if needs be.

 Bespoke gowns like this ine start from £950 labour plus fabric.

 The gown has been used at one event, the price reflects that - still excellent condition though!
