Victorian day walking/tennis dress

  A rare occassion to acquire a dress featured oin the Victorian Dressmaker vol.2 book! A 1880s style Victorian dress in light cotton.

 Details:

 * A bodice in light cotton, lined with cotton, with ruching details at the neck and waist. waist loosely fitted as it goes into the skirt. Needs to be worn over a  well fitted historical corset.

 boned with vintage stays, armpits protected with dress shields

* The skirts - a bustle  kilted skirt in the same fabric, fully lined, with a small bustle pad integrated., , pocket on one side.,  cotton lace ruffle inside the skirt for h shape.hem protection.

An draped overskirt in cotton with a decorative cotton lace.

Undergarments  and accessories not inlculded.

 To achieve the typical silhouette,  a bustle cage  plus a flounced petticoat  as well as a corset need to be worn. (all items can be purchased separately in the shop, subject to stock availibility.)

 Sizing

 bodice closes at :

 *chest:39" (99cm)

 *waist: 34"  ( 86cm).

 *back width across the shoulder blades - 16" (41cm), 

 * cuffs 8" (20cm),  sleeve at the elbow = 13.5" (31cm)

 *collar 15.5" ( 39cm)

Skirts: skirt waistbands -  27.5" (70).",  Front length ( waistband to hem) 42" (106cm) can be easilly re-hemmed shorter. 

 Bespoke gowns like this ine start from £950 labour plus fabric.

 The gown has been used at one event, the price reflects that - still in a very good condition though the pleats  etc in the skirt will need pressing!
