Victorian bustle coat 1880s

  A rare occassion to acquire a dress featured oin the Victorian Dressmaker vol.2 book - and on its cover too!

 A 1880s style Victorian  coat to wear over your  bustle dress when you go out for an autumnal ( or spring walk.

 Details:

 * made in quality  soft  100%wool, fronts  faced with silk taffeta. the seam allowances are bound in cotton, 

*  silk tape waist stay, 

* silk velvet decoration  ( antique) at the back.

 * the coat sports a semi fitted design,  the seams can be taken in more if a fitted look is needed. the back bustle pleating  allows for a variety of bustle shapes.

 To achieve the typical silhouette,  a bustle cage  plus a flounced petticoat  as well as a corset need to be worn.

 *chest:42" (107cm)

 *waist: 32"  ( 81cm).

 *back width across the shoulder blades - 16" (41cm), 

 *   sleeve at the elbow = 13.5" (31cm)

 *  collar 15.5" ( 39cm)

 Worn on a size 12, 5'7" ( 168cm ) tall person

Skirts: skirt waistbands -  27.5" (70).",  Front length ( waistband to hem) 42" (106cm) can be easilly re-hemmed shorter.
