 An essential item in every medieval man's wardrobe - and this one is a showstopper

 This model, with  padded upper sleeve ( Gippon à mahoitres' style), provided the fashionable silhouette in the second half of the 15th century - wide shoulders and narrow waist.

 The fabirc is a very rare and expensive silk/cotton damask woth a metallic thread, patter from the painting by rogier van der weyden. this usually retails at £120-£230 per metre, i eas lucky to get some much cheaper ( £50)  as a bargain!

 

 Features:

*handfinish - the eyelets are worked by hand

Measurements

The doublet closes ( though can be worn open too) at the chest 45"(115cm), waist 37.5" (95cm), back width ( between the shoulder blades) 15" (38cm). 

Sleeve length 24" (62cm)cm, cuff 10.5" (26cm), 

Here shown on a size 46 chest, loosely laced - a pretty good fit
