15th century short robe

 An essential item in every medieval man's wardrobe!

This loose , voluminous robe is worn over a doublet - and this one is a showstopping blue damask with a period correct pattern . A special occassion garment for sure!

The fabirc is a very rare and  usually expensive - i was lucky to get some much cheaper  as a bargain!

 Features:

*silk damask ( this fabric retails at about £265 per metre - this was a bargain due to slight falults in the fabric)

* lined with silk

* neck and cuffs decorated with rabbit fur

*shoulder loosely pleated - can be easily undone and repleated to the new wearer's satisfaction

*closes with  brass hooks and eyes

*pleats under the belt, most sizes will fit - though this model woudl work partucualry well for a gentleman with a fuller posture ( the front is longer). This can be easily remedied.

Measurements

generic size -  here shown on a size 46 chest,  a pretty good fit at the chest, though would look better on  chap with a more impressive girth! ;-)
