Victorian visiting/ day dress

 An elegant 1883-88s style upper class Victorian dress with a day bodice in rare silk moire and silk taffeta.

 Can be worn with or without the drapery

 Details:

 * A fitted bodice in silk taffeta, with front and back moire pannels, with a standing collar; 

*  lined throughout with cotton.

* closing with  buttons

 *decorated with a gimp trim

* The skirt - a bustle skirt in silkmoire, fully lined with cotton,  pocket on one side, gimp decoration ; the skirt has a bustle improver padf attatched.

* An  asymmetric overskirt  drapery in silk taffeta, lined  with glazed cotton. unbustld, but there is a tape inside that will enable bustling if desired.

 Needs to be worn over a  well fitted historical corset and a bustle cage.

Undergarments are not inlculded.

 Hat and accessories not included

To achieve the typical silhouette,  a bustle cage plus a flounced petticoat  as well as a corset need to be worn. (all items can be purchased separately in the shop, subject to stock availibility.)

 Sizing

 bodice closes at :

 *chest:42" (107cm)

 *waist: 32"  (81cm).

 *back width across the shoulder blades - 15" (38cm), 

 sleeve length 23" (58cm)

 The seams can be either taken in or let out to fine tune the fit

Skirts: skirts' waistbands close with a hook and bars, easily regulated -  31-34" (79-86cm).",  Front length (waistband to hem) 39" (99cm). 

Bespoke gowns like this one start from £1000 labour plus fabric.

Modelled on size 12 - a bit too big, especially at the waist
