Winter Quilted petticoat

  A stylish quilted petti!

This petticoat is ideal for winter events -  adding both warmth and volume to your late victorian and early edvardian attire.

 Based on the extant petticoat from V&A ( minus the back ruffles - ran out of fabric!), the style was popular in the 18905-1900s, but i can be easily worn as an extra layer for earlier fashions as well - after all quitled petticoats have been worn for centuries!

 This particular petti was a stash busting project - hence  the lack of back ruffles.

 Features

* made in quality silk/cotton satin from Sudbury silk mills - soft, shiny, in a lovely coral colour, a very rare fabric.

* lined with cotton twill and quilted with wool batting

* quilted thoughout in two different styles

* fun ruffle in front, slipstitched at the top to prevent folding under

* hem and waist bound with a velvet ( rayon i believe) bias

* the top binding extends into ties - size can re ealily regulated.

Measurements:

 length in front 31" (79cm), waist closed 32.5" (83cm).

 The back panel is pleated - if a larger size is required, the binding can be taken off and pleates loosened up.

  Would look best on corseted size 12-16
