A rare occasion to aquire the sumptous gown from the Victorian Dressmaker volume 3 book!

  A real stunner, this gown is sutaibe for a ball/ evening sortie, dating 1893-98.

 This gown has been worn once for 2 hours, the price is reduced to reflect that.

 Details:

 * a bodice and skirt in rare, high quality silk damask from Sudbury Silk Mills with the pattern ideal for the period,  lined throughout with glazed cotton with  a decoration with antique chiffon trim.

*The bodice is has a piped neckline and waist, and is boned with original Victorian antique bodice stays. The finish inside is by overlocker.

 The sleeves are interlined with stiff organza, and ther top is decorated with antique silk chiffon trim ( more trim can be added, i will include the leftover bits)

* The bodice closes  with lacing at the back- handstitched eyelets, and a ribbon to lace. There is a modesty panel under the lacing, so the size can be easily regulated ( might require a longer lace).

*  The skirt is also decorated with the silk chiffon. The hem faced with cotton organdy and bound (easy to replave when worn) and a s dust ruffle can be easily mounted on the organdy as well.

*the skirt closes with hooks and bars at the waist, there is spave to move them either way.

 To achieve the typical silhouette,  a  proper victorian corset  and  probably a hip pad/ bum improver  need to be worn, combined with a suitable petticoat.  

 A new bespoke  gown in this style would start from £2000 plus fabrics.

 bodice closes at :

chest:43 (109cm) (

 waist: 31"  ( 79cm).

 the modesty panel will allow for another 3-4 inches 

 skirt length in front  - 40" (102cm), skirt waist 30.5" (78cm)

Here worn over a 5'7" ( 170cm) tall,  size 12, a bit too big ( corset not laced)

Would best suit a curvy,  corseted UK size 14. please measure yourself carefully over your corset!
