Victorian Bustle Cage class

Welcome to our online class!

 Following the success of the first 3 online classes, we are now offering more classes in the 2024!  

 The live classes will focus on demonsttrating the techniques of making and assembling a bustle cage suitable for 1870-80s fashions.  

 You will be able to ask questions on the chat during the course, and I will be pausing to check them regularly. There will also be time to ask more questions at the end of the session.

 This is not a "sew along" session -  you don't need to purchase any materials to participate in the class, and you don't need to do any sewing at all during the live session (unless you want to have a little project in the background to work on as you watch - I know I usually do!). 

 The class will be recorded and a link to the recorded session will be sent after the session - so you can access it at any time convenient to you and pause and play for your own private sew-along. The link to the class will be sent on Fruday before the Saturday class. The recording will be available till the end of the year.

 If you purchase the class but cannot attend, the link with the recording will still be sent out to you to watch at your leisure.

 Pattern -  I will be working with my own pattern from the Victorian Dressmaker vol.1 - but we will discuss other options and i will recommend  other commercial patterns  too.

 The pdf pattern from the book will be included as well.

 Contents

* Brief outline of the cages in the era

* Materials needed: fabrics, boning, tapes, etc

*  The Pattern and adjustment - mock up, sizing, adjusting shape etc.

* Cutting out, planning boning placement

*  Preparing the boning 

*  assembling and optional decoration

*  finishing  touches and options

* time permitting we will also have a look at no fabric cages construction

 Once purchased, a link with the meeting will be sent over a day before the event - please make sure you check your junk folder in case it strayed there!

Please note, the class will only run if there is enough participants enlisted. If the minimum is not reached the class will be cancelled and the order refunded.
