Victorian 1850s ball dress

A fun and lively ball gown 1850-60s, perfect for dancing in!

  This dress has been used once for a ball, by our model, hence the discounted price! 

 Details:

 * Lovely silk  taffeta with checked pattern 

 *The bodice is flatlined with cotton and  sports a comples decoration -  the frint is split and filled over with gathered silk organza, then docorated with the braid trim. It also sports a little peplum

 * The sleeve also sports ruched silk organza and braid as well.

 * The bodice laces at the back, with a modesly panel, so will easily accommodate another 2 inches.

 *The bodice is boned, and the inside finish is modern to keep the pricing down.

* the model wore sweat pads  for the ball to keep the bodice clean, they have been removed.

* The skirt is generous, gathered to the waistband- enough to go on a crinoline cage or on starched/corded petticoats

 Accessories are not included. 

To achieve the typical silhouette a  round crinoline cage or corded petticoats, petticoats, and corset need to be worn. (most items can be purchased separately in the shop). 

Sizing

bodice closes at:

chest:36" (92cm) 

waist: 32"  (82cm).

 underarm to waist side  length- 7" (18cm)

skirt : waistband 31.5"  (81cm) - two hooks to regulate the waist,   length - 38" (97cm), 

 There is enough sparte fabric to  either lenghten the skirt or to make a day bodice/waistcoat. This will be included free of charge, together with left over braid

  The skirt has some dust marks - would benefit from drycleaning, please see pictures
