Victorian ball gown

 A first bustle era ball gown

 Suitable for 1868-72s styles, this set was made for the Victorian Dressmaker book 3, and was used once at an event - hence the discounted price.

 the only sign of wear is the dusting of the hem and some damage on the lowest chiffon puffing - see the close ups!

 Details:

 * the  gown is in silk  satin (on cotton backing i think?)  

* bodice lined with silk,. decorated with cotton lace and velvet covered buttons

* closing with hooks and eyelets under the decorative buttons

 *long decorative tabs - can be worn either over or under the skirts for a different look!

* The skirt and over skirt are in the same satin, overskirt lined with silk, skirt with cotton

*  the hem of the skirt is reinfirced with  a deep facing of a stiff cotton organdy

*pocket on one side,

*hem decoration - 5m of silk chiffon in rows, with vintave chenille braid in between

*the overskirt is decorated with the same braid and yards of ruffled cotton lace, also vintage

Undergarments  and accessores are not inlculded.

To achieve the typical silhouette,  a crinolette plus petticoats  as well as a corset need to be worn.

Measurements

 bodice closes at :

 *chest:43" (109cm)

 *waist: 34"  (86cm).

 *back width across the shoulder blades - 16" (40cm), 

  biceps 13.5" 

 The seams can be either taken in or let out to fine tune the fit, 

Skirts: skirts' waistbands close with buttons,easily regulated: 31" (79cm).

Front length (waistband to hem) 43" (108cm).

Modelled on size 14, good fit and 12 - a bit too big, especially at the waist
