Burgundian gown

A dramatic burgundian gown!

 This is a gown full of drama - red and black damask with medival pattern  is both elegant and impactful.

Made out of very rare, and  very expansive silk/wool damask from Sudbury Silk Mills,  medium weight - a quality fabric that is more durable than flimsy silk, easy to iron and fully breathable.

 Ideal for recreating a high status lady from the second half of the 15th century.

 Features:

* made in spectacular silk/wool damask,  retailing at £65 per metre - 5m went into the gown

* lined throughout with silk from James Hare

* turn back cuffs and collar  in  contrasting black silk satin-  the dress would usually be pinned under the collar, to the kirte underneath, or worn off the shoulders

 * moderate train

* main seams by machine, finish by hand

* hem guarded by the same satin- easy to replace when worn

Accessories not included, but the purses can be purchased separatly.

 Measurements -

chest up to 40" (102cm),

front length 58" (147cm),

elbow circumference - 12.5" (32cm), wrist 9.5 (24cm)

Would look best on 6-12 uk size, but please measure carefully - your chest will need to be smaller than 40 ideally, i just about managed to squeeze my bosom in!

 Here worn on a size 12, 5'7" ( 169cm) tall - a tad too small!
