Victorian 1850s dress

 A rare occasion to acquire the dress from the Victorian Dressmaker volume 3 book!

 This is an lavish example of a afternoon/day dress, suitable for an outing in tha city, gardens or the country, but stylish enough to be worn for afternoon engaments etc.

 Details:

 *  skirts and bodice in excellent quality cotton print - an exact replica nof estant print form the era!

 *The bodice  is lined in cotton sateen, the frint features a decorative stitched pleating.

* Fashionable sleeves are lined with cotton lawn, decorated with excellent cluny lace on the inside the cuff.

*  currently unbopned, bones can be added, please see options!

* the bodice closes in front with hooks ( antique swan bills) and eyelets. these can be repositioned for a tighter fit

* neck and hem piped.

 * inside finish by machiune (overlocked)

* a matching pelerine with cotton fringe is included, 

 *The skirt is made out of fpoundation in glazed  cotton, hemmed, and two flounces (the top one incorporated  into the foundation and cartridge pleated to the waistband)

* the flounces are pinked 

 The bonnet, collar and undersleeves are not included!

To achieve the typical silhouette a victorian corset and a  round crinoline cage need to be worn, with a petticoat or two, need to be worn. (most items can be purchased separately in the shop) 

 Sizing

 bodice  closes at :

chest:42.5" (109cm)

 waist: 31"  (79cm).

 armpit to waist - 8.5" (22cm)

  back length, 14.5" (36cm)

 back between the shoulder blades: 17"(43cm)

Skirts:   waist  hooks close at 32"  and 30"( 81and 76cm)

Front length ( bottom waistband to hem) 44" (111cm)
