Romantic era ball gown

Romantic era evening gown,  1828-38

 This was one of my first dresses, made several years ago and worn to a couple of events. it originballt had an antique lave flounce at the skirt  this now was removed as during one dance a bloke's spurs tore it to pieces (who wers spurs to the ball??). Another lace can always be mounted on top!

  The gown is now heavily discounted.

 It needs to be worn over a period correct corset (a corded one would be best, but a standard, generic victorian one will work as well!) and a combination of a corded and standard petticoats - either can be ordered separately on the site. 

 Features:

*made in amazing silk taffeta in suberb colour

*bodice is lined with black silk, skirt lined in cotton organdy 

* bodice closing at back with hooks and eyelet combination

* skirt pleated to the bodice

* bows in wide velvet ribbon

*  piping in the seams etc.

*  the skirt is decorated with a vintage ribbon - this ribbon is also made up as a belt

 * The hair decrations are included

 bodice: chest  currently closes at 41" (104cm), waist at 27-28" (69-71cm), armpit to waist 7.5" (19cm)

 back width across the shoulder blades 14" (36cm)

 Will look best on a corseted size 10-12,  and can be made smaller by working another set of eyelets
