Victorian 1850-60s dress

 An delightful day gown in stunning silk taffeta!

 Details:

 *  skirts and bodice in vintage check woven silk taffeta, light -  purchased at a huge discount at £25 per metre - there are some minor faults in the fabric and long storage marks, please see photos - youdo need to look very closely to see them!

 * The bodice  is lined in cotton sateen, sporting a peplum and bell sleeves deocrated with cotton lace and braid

*  currently unboned, bones can be added, please see options!

* the bodice closes in front with metal buttons 

 * inside finish by machine (overlocked)

 *The skirt is made out of the same taffeta and pleated to the waistband)

* there is a 3 inch hem - easy to let down or to shorten, decorsted with braid

To achieve the typical silhouette a victorian corset and a round crinoline cage need to be worn, with a petticoat or two, need to be worn. (most items can be purchased separately in the shop) 

 Sizing

 bodice  closes at :

chest:40" (101cm)

 waist: 30"  (76cm).

back width across the shoulderblades - 16" (41cm)

 armpit to waist - 8" (20cm)

Skirts:   waist  hooks close at 30.5"  and 31.5"( 77cm and 80cm), easy to make smaller.

Front length ( bottom waistband to hem) 48" (122cm)   easy to shorten

  Here shown on a busty size 12/14, a tad too small - as you can see by the stress wrinkles!
