  Late bodies based on the famous stays made for the effigy of Elizabeth I in 1603 ( 1603 - Westminster Abbey, London, bodies for an effigy of Queen Elizabeth I). Perfect for late Elizabethan and Jacobean styles – essential in creating the smooth, elongated, conical silhouette of the era.

 Features:

  *made in linen canvas and a densly woven linen/cotton damask ( there might be some other fibre content, seller wasn't sure), with a period correct pattern

 *Fully boned with reed – authentic, breathable and light! The reed adapts to your body and moves with it - making the stays very comfortable. Front reinforced with artificial whalebone boning as well - narrower plus one wider bone, as in original..

* cotton lace .

* eyelets - you decide! please select either metal grommets or handstitched eyelets

*construction and boning channels done on a machine

 *edges bound in tape

 Mesurements -  chest closes at 38" (96.5cm),  waist closes at 33" (84cm), waist - armpit height - 7.5" (18cm)

Woudl suit best size 14, with natural body measurments  of chest - 40" to 43", waist 35" - 37"

 Can be worn laced shut or with a gap up to 2 " wide.
