   1910-1918 - Teens  corset.

This type of corset differs from the previous styles – its function wasn’t to create a small waist or a straight front profile, rather it was to smooth the body and streamline the silhouette so that the vertical, tighter fitting garments can follow the lines of the body smoothly. 

Features:

*High quaity,  corsetry floral broche

* Lapped seams

* Quality stainless steel busk,

* Mid bust, offering some bust support

* Boned with a mix of flat and spring bones 

* Back lacing eyelets with washers

* Waist tape

* Edges bound in cotton

* vintage lace 

* Bones flossed with strong cotton thread

* Suspenders in matching elastic

   Measurements:

bust: 40" (100cm)

Waist: 31" (78cm)

hip: 42" (106 cm)

Would best suit a size 14-16, with natural waist of 33-36", chest 41-44", hip 43 - 45". Modelled on size 12, too big!

The Teen corsets still have the standard 1-2 inches waist reduction built in – the reduction will vary from person to person depending on the lady’s built and body type. Please measure carefully – your actual waist measurement should be about 2 inches more than the measurement of the corset.  The corset does not need to close at the back - a 2-3" lacing gap is perfectly acceptable and historically appropriate.
