Equestrian corseted waistcoat size waist 29"

 I have devised this one for myself, for horse riding, as due to costachonditis I was unable to wear sports bra for a longer periods of time.  Bras were not an option - but  my usual riding corset worked great and I was able to spent hours in the saddle without any discomfort.  

 The riding waistcoats are a hybrid: a traditional waistocoat with a riding corset combined  to provide female riders with a comfortable wear. The waistocoat  does give a nice smooth silhouette, but does not constrict the waist as much as traditional corsets - just enough to support the garment and the wearer. The tight fit and boning as well as higher front keeps the 'assets' in check, provide gentle back support and shaping.

 They work great for showing/hunting under a modern habit, or for exercise/hacking etc, with jodhs and a shirt. Suitable for both astride and side saddle.

  They are designed with the 'busty ladies in mind - no more putting on 2 pairs of sports bras :-) so if you ever struggled with the issue - the waistcoat will reduce the uncomfortable bouncing by quite a lot!

 Main features

 *2 layer construction  for the front - quality wool in Tattersall check and strong cotton sateen strength layer; herrinbone cotton coutil for the back.

* boned with a mixture of  steel boning (flat steels at the back and centre front, spring steels at the sides to provide more comfort and movement range)

* strong corsetry zip up the front, and a full length lacing at the back allows for regulation.  hidden by a buttoned flap, gold buttons.

* boning channels in cotton  tape

* elastic side panel provide more freedom of movement  ( new!)

*elastic panel at the shoulder - easy to remove if the waistcoat needs to be shorter.

* bound in cotton binding - easy to replace when worn.

* waist stay  for strength and support 

* quality eyelets with washers, and strong cotton lacing.

 *bones are flossed with strong thread to prevent poking out ( for those not in the know - flossing is the handstitched detail on every bone channel, preventing the bones from poking though the fabric and securing the bone. When your flossing starts wearing out, it is best to redo it - otherwise the bone will poke through the fabric in time. Being handstitched means it takes a bit more time, but flossing does prolong the life of the corset by quite a lot-))

Fully closed waistcoat measures -

 chest - 36 - 38"  ( 91-97cm)" ),

waist 29 - 31" ( 74-79cm)",

hip 39-41" (99-104cm) 

 side length (armpit to waist) 6.5" (17cm)

The elastic inserts allow for another 1-2 inches stretch

 It is therefore recommended for the natural measurements of  roughly -

chest 41-44", waist 32-35", hip 42"-44"

All our waistcoats have the standard 2 inches waist reduction built in – the reduction will vary from person to person depending on the lady’s built and body type.  The lacing at the back can be closed up, or there can be a gap for up to 2-3 inches. 

The waistcoats should not be worn on naked skin -  please wear them on a vest, chemisette or a blouse - or fitted tee shirt.

 Please be aware that in order to support things well, this garment needs to be tight - and your boobs will be flattened out. That doesn't mean however that it should be uncomfortable - if you experience any pain or discomfort during your first wear, it it a sign the waistcoat does not fit correctly.

 Remember you will be wearing it mostly sitting down so when you try it on, make sure you sit in it too - the hips are fuller when sitting and waist is a little bit higher - our waistcoats accommodate that.

 I recommend the waistcoat to be worn a few times  - like most corsets, it needs to adjust to your body and settle :-) you may find that after a few outings you will be able to lace it a bit tighter:-)

Please bear in mind,  they are not medical items for figure correction etc - not only  wearing a badly fitted corset can cause harm if you have an existing condition, but also, our corsets are not made for a day in and out use. Sturdy, yes, as much as a regular clothing, but medical corsets designed for constant use are made from very different materials that can take the strain of a daily use.
