This type of corset differs from the previous styles – its function wasn’t to create a small waist or a straight front profile, rather it was to smooth the body and streamline the silhouette so that the vertical, tighter fitting garments can follow the lines of the body smoothly.
This is my own personal corset and the first of this style i ever made - but i olny wore it a couple of times, since i am not really into the period.
It is in a very good condition - only the suspender clips would have to be changed sooner or later. They are very loosely attached at the moment so easy to take them off completely.

The Teen corsets still have the standard 1-2 inches waist reduction built in – the reduction will vary from person to person depending on the lady’s built and body type. Please measure carefully – your actual waist measurement should be about 2 inches more than the measurement of the corset. The corset does not need to close at the back - a 2-3"lacing gap is perfectly acceptable and historically appropriate.
If you are interested with a corset with more or less reduction or decoration, please contact us asking for a bespoke order – more information on ordering in ourBespoke section.
Bespoke corsets of this type start from £400 and require 1-2 fittings
Please note that wearing an incorrect size or incorrect use of a corset might result in health issues. Corsets can be beneficial in certain conditions - but detrimental in others, so if you have a back/ spine/rib condition please check with your doctor prior to purchasing one. A well fitted corset should feel like a hug and should not cause any discomfort.
If you need a corset to help with any issues, please consult and order bespoke with a profesional medical corsetiere who would be able to design the amount of support suitable to your needs.
It is recommended that only ladies over 18 years old wear and buy corsets.
Prior Attire will not be liable for any medical issues caused by incorrect fit or incorrect/prolonged wearing etc of our corsets.
